Margaret River Kitchen Renovation – A Character Home Reimagined
When the owners of this beautiful Margaret River home approached us, they loved the character and natural light of their kitchen but felt the space wasn’t working as efficiently as it could.
The existing layout lacked storage, preparation space and an intuitive workflow. A bulky rangehood interrupted views through the room, while the island offered limited functionality and made the kitchen feel more confined than it needed to be.
Our goal was to create a kitchen that improved storage, workflow and usability while preserving the warmth and character of the home.
The redesigned layout makes full use of the property’s stunning windows and garden outlook. By incorporating a Bosch downdraft induction cooktop, we were able to position the cooking zone beneath the feature window without the need for an overhead rangehood, opening up sightlines and allowing natural light to flow throughout the space.
Storage was dramatically increased through the use of deep drawer cabinetry, a full-height pull-out pantry, integrated appliances and carefully planned storage solutions. The larger island now provides valuable preparation space while also incorporating additional storage.
The material palette was carefully selected to complement the home’s existing timber features. Polytec Oasis Smooth cabinetry pairs beautifully with Silksurface Sandora benchtops and splashbacks, while the custom Jarrah slab island top introduces warmth and texture to the design. White matte wall and tall cabinetry keep the space feeling bright, open and timeless.
Premium appliances, including a Bosch downdraft induction cooktop, Häfele 15-function oven with AirFry technology and an integrated convection microwave, complete the transformation.
The result is a bright, functional and highly efficient kitchen that feels larger, calmer and better connected to the surrounding home and landscape, while remaining true to the character of this beautiful Margaret River property.
