This Geographe kitchen renovation completely transformed a dated kitchen into a bright, contemporary entertaining space with significantly improved functionality and storage.
The original kitchen featured timber-look cabinetry, laminate benchtops and a large dividing wall that separated the kitchen from the living area. While the space was generous, the layout felt enclosed and limited interaction with family and guests.
Our goal was to create a modern kitchen that felt open, connected and designed for everyday living.

The original kitchen was functional but beginning to show its age. Heavy cabinetry and a dividing wall restricted natural light and interrupted the flow between the kitchen, dining and living spaces.
Storage was spread across several separate work areas, while the cooking zone relied on a traditional canopy rangehood that visually dominated the room.
The homeowners wanted a cleaner, more contemporary kitchen with better storage, larger preparation areas and premium finishes that would complement their timber flooring.

Removing the dividing wall completely changed how the space feels. The new open-plan design connects the kitchen seamlessly with the dining and living areas, creating a much larger and brighter entertaining space.
A large custom island now forms the centrepiece of the kitchen, providing generous preparation space, casual seating and a modern black undermount sink with matching black tapware.
SilkSurface Silk Whisper benchtops and matching full-height splashbacks create a seamless, luxurious finish while reflecting natural light throughout the room. Continuing the same surface onto the splashback removes visual clutter and makes the kitchen feel even larger.
The custom cabinetry combines warm timber-look overhead cupboards with deep charcoal base cabinetry, creating a timeless colour palette that complements the existing timber flooring beautifully.
To maintain the clean lines of the design, an integrated rangehood has been concealed within the overhead cabinetry above the new 90cm Häfele induction cooktop. This provides excellent extraction without interrupting the minimalist appearance of the kitchen.
Storage was another major focus of the renovation. Deep drawers throughout the kitchen provide far more practical storage than traditional cupboards, while a dedicated small appliance garage keeps frequently used appliances organised but hidden from view, allowing the benchtops to remain uncluttered.
The finished kitchen is modern, practical and built around the way the homeowners use the space every day.
