Broadwater Kitchen Renovation – From 70s Orange Laminate to a Modern Functional Kitchen
This Broadwater kitchen renovation was a complete transformation of a heavily dated 1970s kitchen that had reached the end of its life.
The original space featured dark timber cabinetry, bright orange laminate benchtops, ageing finishes and areas affected by rot and moisture damage. While the kitchen was functional, it felt closed in, outdated and lacked the storage and practicality expected in a modern home.
Our goal was to completely reimagine the space while creating a cleaner, brighter and more functional layout that would better suit everyday living.
The renovation replaced every element of the original kitchen, introducing fresh white cabinetry, modern flooring and durable solid surface benchtops throughout. The lighter colour palette immediately transformed the feel of the room, creating a space that feels significantly larger, brighter and more welcoming.
Storage was a major focus of the design. Custom cabinetry was used to maximise every available area, including a full-height pull-out pantry system that provides exceptional organisation and accessibility while keeping the kitchen uncluttered.
The new layout also incorporates a large peninsula bench that creates additional preparation space, casual seating and a stronger connection between the kitchen and adjoining living areas.
An undermount sink was integrated into the solid surface benchtops, creating a seamless finish that is both practical and easy to maintain. Open shelving elements were incorporated to add warmth and visual balance while keeping frequently used items within reach.
The completed renovation bears little resemblance to the original kitchen. What was once a dark and dated 70s space affected by rot and mould has been transformed into a bright, clean and highly functional kitchen designed for modern living
